The 13th edition of The Annual Botswana Consumer Fair officially opened at Ditshupo Hall on Monday under the theme, “ It’s more than just shopping,” .This year’s fair is described as an interactive forum for both local and foreign exhibitors that enables manufacturers, wholesalers and traders to market their products directly to consumers in the country.
In his keynote address at the official opening, Chief Executive Officer, Botswana Investment and Trade Centre (BITC) Kelotsositse Olebile said, “ This will go a long way in improving domestic linkages, as well as promote networks locally and internationally. It is my hope that this fair is not only growing in exhibitions but also in the quality of the goods and services that are on display. I am informed that in 2017 the fair attracted over 500 exhibitors, from Lesotho, Zambia, Swaziland, South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Egypt, Japan, India, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. This is an indication that the Fair is growing in popularity and stature. Improved quality and increased variety of wares increases the interest of the visitors and makes them look forward to returning the following year. ”
With an annual attendance of over 60,000, The Consumer Fair is the most visited expo in the country. The event runs from August 27th through to 2nd November, 2018.
