Botswana Patriotic Front (BPF) Secretary founding General Roseline Panzirah Matshome is late.
Reports suggest that Panzirah Matshome died due to a heart condition on Tuesday (yesterday) afternoon. BPF President Biggie Butale confirmed her passing in a statement released last night.
“It is with a heavy heart, deep sorrow and shock that I have to announce the passing away of our beloved founding member and Secretary General Mme Roseline Panzirah Motshome. Our Secretary General passed on earlier today, December 8th 2020. My most sincere condolences to the family, Patriots and the nation at large.”
Before joining BPF in 2019, Panzirah was a member of the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP). She was one of those who played a huge role in Mokgweetsi Masisi’s ascendance to the country’s presidency in 2018, as well as the formation of the new party, BPF which she was a part of at the time of her passing.
Panzirah Motshome will be remembered for her tireless and loyal service to both parties where she served in the leadership positions. In a vocation where few women make it, Panzirah Motshome proved to be a force to reckon with oftentimes being in the forefront in the political battlefield.
Within the BPF she assumed a very powerful position of the Secretary General which is equivalent to the party’s Chief Executive Officer.
She will be remembered, in the media fraternity, for her role in building the BPF brand and her friendly demeanour. Politicians across the political divide continue to pay tribute to her and her indefatigable contribution to the country’s political legacy
