Slight fuel Price Decrease

GAZETTE REPORTER

Motorists will from today (Tuesday) buy fuel at reduced prices, Botswana Energy Regulatory Authority (BERA) have  announced.
According to BERA which is responsible for providing  an efficient energy regulatory framework for Electricity, Gas, Coal, Petroleum products, solar and all forms of renewable energy in Botswana, the retail price for all petrol grades will slightly go down by 13 thebe per liter. Retail prices for all diesel grades will marginally decrease by 10 thebe per liter whereas that of illuminating paraffin will decrease by 20 thebe per liter.

“The decrease in retail pries is influenced by the general decline of international oil prices. International crude oil prices have been going down mainly as a result of reduced global demand concerns driven mainly by the slowdown of the world economy,” BERA said in a statement released on Monday which is signed by its Chief Executive Officer Rose Seretse.
The statement further reads that the regulator will continue to closely monitor the prices of petroleum products in both regional and international markets and make necessary adjustments.
