BFA likely to drop case against Harrison

Harrison off  the hook as new TD handles other tasks

The Botswana Football Association is likely to drop their case against former Township Rollers coach Mark Harrison. The association was investigating him for dubiously attending a CAF A License course in Lesotho without their authorization and permission. The British coach had hastily attended a CAF A License course in order to speed up his CAF License attempts.
He reportedly took just two weeks to complete a two month exercise, raising the association’s suspicions. The BFA later found out that he did not get a CAF A License but rather received an attendance certificate which he forwarded to CAF, hoping to get a License.
Harrison’s case was handled by former Technical Director Benny Kgomela. Kgomela conducted a month long investigation into the matter, he reportedly made findings but the details have not been made public yet.
In February the BFA questioned Harrison about the Lesotho saga and asked him to provide ‘just cause’ why he should not be punished by the local mother body, he did not respond to a week long deadline as previously reported by this publication.
Gazette Sport understands that the Harrison matter is now a ‘cold case’ because it has not been attended for close to six months. The former Township Rollers coach could escape scot-free as the new guard of BFA employees, particularly the new TD Matshidiso Kowa and the Chief Executive Officer Ookeditse Malesu have yet to be briefed about the issue.
The earliest indications are that the case might be dropped as the new TD,  Kowa, is already focusing on new tasks. Reached for comment two BFA officials stated that the changing of the guard, in terms of employment, affected the case as it was handled by different people.
