Gaborone United has confirmed that an agreement with veteran player Dipsy Selolwane might be reached before the end of this week. This comes after speculation and rumours linking him to the Gaborone giants.
GU Communications Manager Kabelo Brown confirmed in an interview with Gazette Sport that they are on the verge of sealing a deal with Dipsy , hinting that they have given him “few proposals that he should look at.”
Even though Brown would not reveal the contents in the ‘possible contract’ with the former PSL player, he said the club is keen to have him as part of the club.
“We have given him a proposal. We may need him as a player and as part of administration too as he studied sport and marketing. When he left Botswana, he promised to come back to GU and we are hoping to have him on board very soon,” said Brown.
Meanwhile, Brown revealed that part of the proposal is for Dipsy to play for one year and then go into administration-either by joining the technical team or management. “ In all this, Dipsy has the final decision and we will take what he would have decided on,” Brown explained.
Dipsy is currently training with GU and many are hoping that he helps the struggling side retain to their supremacy . He played for GU in the Kabelano Charity Cup coming in as a second half substitute and his presence in the field was important as young players were motivated by playing with him according to Brown.
