Motlakase still waiting for Changwe’s work permit

The management of Motlakase Power Dynamos has expressed confidence that they will overcome work permit issues that delayed confirmation of Dominic Changwe as the teams’ head coach. The Palapye based club is still waiting for the seal of approval from the immigration department before the Zambian tactician officially begins his tenure.

Changwe was first introduced to Motlakase players a week before the team’s Mascom Top 8 quarterfinal first leg game against Township Rollers. Though he has been working with the team during training, Changwe has not been able to exert his influence on the team in official games. Motlakase’s public relations officer, Monty Gagomokgwa told Gazette Sport that the coach was supposed to have started his tenure by last week, but was delayed by work permit problems.

“He should have started last week but we are still sorting out some work permit issues. We are hopeful that we will get the permit, though I can’t set a time frame for now,” he said.

Both parties have agreed on a two year deal and the coach will be assisted by current caretaker coach Atang Mogotsi. Changwe will be tasked with reproducing Motlakase’s impressive 2013/2014 season form which earned the team its first ever Mascom Top 8 slot. Changwe has previously coached local league sides Tafic Sporting Club and Orapa United.
