Ngele corrects poor three year

Mogakolodi Ngele’s midweek brace against Golden Arrows signalled the first time he has surpassed the five goal mark in almost two years. Ngele’s recent goal return in the past few seasons did not make for good reading as he had registered single digit goal tallies.
This season, Ngele has scored six goals so far. The former Township Rollers forward had steadily been on a decline in terms of his goal return. Perhaps he was a victim of his own success as he struggled to replicate the prolific nature he displayed in his first two seasons in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), he scored 20 goals in his first two years as a Platinum Stars player.
The 2014/2015 season saw his goal tally decline as he scored only five times. A big money move to Mamelodi Sundowns followed but first team chances were limited as he scored only two goals during the whole season.
This season has seen Ngele return to his prolific best as he has amassed more than five goals for the first time in two seasons. Ngele’s brace catapulted Wits to the top of the table and he is edging towards a record second successive PSL title, if his side can maintain their impressive form.
With only nine games to go, Wits could end up defying the odds by winning the title ahead of giants such as Kaizer Chiefs and Sundowns. Last season Ngele won a league medal as a squad player but a second would be sweeter as he would have achieved it as a regular first team player.
Interestingly, Ngele also scored his first ever brace in South African football against Arrows in December 2012. Ngele remains the highest scoring Motswana in the PSL with 33 goals in 108 games in all competitions.
