  • Crucial points dropped by Ditlhokwe’s Supersport United

Botswana’s DStv Premiership duo, Mogakolodi Ngele and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, played to a goalless draw as their clubs Chippa United and Supersport United locked horns over weekend. Ditlhokwe was in the starting lineup for Supersport while Ngele made a second half appearance for Chippa, replacing Thokozani Sekotlong in the 46th minute.

So far Ngele has missed only one game this season, the 2-1 setback from Stellenbosch FC last month while Ditlhokwe has played in all six league games for his club so far.

While a draw seemed a fair result for both teams, it could also be classified as a missed opportunity for Supersport United who are chasing league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns. Ditlhokwe’s club missed an opportunity to close the gap on Sundowns as they dropped two crucial points. Sundowns are now four points ahead of Supersport after six rounds of league action.

Chippa were also in need of maximum points as they are only three points ahead of bottom placed TS Galaxy. Ngele’s club was coming off the back of two successive league defeats that saw them drop to 13th spot on the log.

Ngele and Ditlhokwe will be back in club action on October 16 when Chippa faces Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs and Supersport goes into combat against Baroka FC.
