Jwaneng Galaxy FC has already laid down their marker for the 2018/2019 BTC Premiership season in spectacular fashion. Last season’s runners up have won their first two games of the season to occupy the top spot on the log.
The manner in which they have done it has been more impressive as they have scored 10 goals in the first two games without conceding a goal. They started the season with a 5-0 win over Prisons XI away from home, they handed the newbies a heavy thumping at the Otse Police College Stadium.
This past Saturday they thumped Security Systems 5-0 in Jwaneng courtesy of a brace from Patrick Kaunda, another double from Tebogo Sembowa while Atisang Batsi also scored for the Jwaneng outfit. They are also the first team to reach double figures in terms of goals this season, as it stands they have scored more goals than the bottom five teams combined.
Galaxy have finished second in the last two seasons and they also won the 2017 Mascom Top 8 title, they have already started the league season in rampant form and they have clearly sent a message to rivals Township Rollers.
In the 2016/2017 season they finished the league eight points behind Rollers but last season (2017/2018) they pushed Popa all the way as they finished only four points behind Nikola Kavazovic’s side. Galaxy will to put their impressive start to the test against defending champions Rollers in a 4pm kickoff this Saturday in Jwaneng.
