Gaborone’s latest up-market hotel, the Lansmore is set to host a Wedding Expo this coming weekend on the 20th April on its roof terrace. The hotel which is known for catering to the business traveler, has begun hosting an exciting roster of lifestyle oriented events. According to the hotel’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Botho Mogami, “We have just officially opened and by hosting the wedding Expo, we are trying to communicate to the general public that other than catering for your typical business traveler, we are your ultimate wedding venue, be it small or big. We have the facilities and the resources hence this Wedding Expo.”

The Expo which starts at 10am will stretch out until the evening at 10pm and a number of local designers have been included as part of the itinerary as a way of promoting locals to showcase their garments. “It is very common that when a couple weds, they are most likely to involve a designer to make a dress for the bride and the bridal party which is why we thought it important to include designers amongst other things,” added Mogami. Designers who will be showcasing are Lebo Merafhe, Black Trash who will be showing their traditional wedding gowns and South African Fashion House, Fundudzi by Craig Jacobs.

Mogami further revealed that the morning part of the Expo will mostly focus on the different exhibitors who will be there. She mentioned that they will include make-up artists, hair dressers, event planners, cake makers, wedding gowns rental stores as well as those in the catering business. While the morning has been reserved for exhibitors, the afternoon will include a bridal fashion show from the different bridal stores that will be present. In addition, popular DJ’s DJ O’Neal and DJ Kellz are set to entertain throughout the duration of the event. “Those attending the Wedding Expo can anticipate cake and champagne sampling within the renowned la Touch de Provence restaurant and drinks at Espretto. With free entry for all guests, the event aims to give brides and grooms-to-be, as well as those just looking to plan ahead for their big day, a memorable peek into what a true Lansmore wedding has to offer,” said Mogami.
