Fashion Without Borders in the Pipeline

Gaborone will play host to the 4th Annual Fashion Without Borders’(FWB) Designers Road Show slated for 6th February 2018. The event promises an exciting and unique fashion filled week with dialogue, a fashion exhibition and fashion show set to capture the attention of fashion lovers across Gaborone, Botswana and Africa at large. FWB 2017 saw local designers, Opelo Lesake of Wabi Sabi, Natasha Tlagae of House of Noir and Lesly Mmoloke of Les Wear Xclusives participating in the Mr Price Group mentorship training programme in Durban RSA. This year, Fashion Without Borders will show highlights of how current fashion trends are predicted by moods, behaviour and buying habits of a consumer at a particular time. Moreover, to cope with ever-changing technologies, markets and consumers are rapidly evolving from following traditional, static and demography-based criteria towards more dynamic, modern, lifestyle and psychographic influences. The event will bring together 25 designers ranging from new talent to emerging and established names. In an effort to raise awareness about local fashion consumption POP-UP stalls which will run from April 2 – 8 at Avani Resort and Casino were introduced. This fashion and lifestyle movement includes a display of Fashion stalls, exhibition and runway show to be enjoyed by the public, with an opportunity to interact with local designers and designers from the Southern Africa.
