In their continued quest to position Avani Resort and Casino as the preferred social and sports hub of Gaborone, the hotel is firing up its annual lifestyle event with DJ Zinhle this coming weekend. Slated for 20 November, the event features one of South Africa’s most sought-after and successful DJs who is also a reality show star, a mother, a producer and a businesswoman.
“The achievements that the renowned DJ Zinhle has attained makes her the right fit for our lifestyle event,” Marketing Executive at Avani, Thapelo Mmono, told Time Out in an interview. “We conceptualise events that are just beyond having fun but are also for our guests to be inspired. DJ Zinhle has several successful businesses and this makes her the perfect guest who can come and share her experiences with others.”
The multi-talented media personality has a number of successful businesses under her belt that are thriving in the same way as her music career. She owns a fashion brand styled New Era that features customised bracelets, watches, earrings and sunglasses among others. The mother of two has also been releasing hit songs consistently in time for the festive season.
To top it off, DJ Zinhle also co-owns Jiyane Atelier, which is a home design brand that specialises in décor and custom-made furniture. Although the famous DJ has always preferred to keep her personal life private, this year she opened up to her followers with the announcement of her very own reality show, “DJ Zinhle: Unexpected.”
Said Mmono: “The DJ will have conversations with the guests at the event, talking to aspiring DJ’s and businesspeople about her journey that will hopefully inspire them. She will also have a set where she will be performing for the guests.”
The Avani Lifestyle event also aims to showcase the best of hospitality and get people to appreciate the beauty of Gaborone through city activities, including visiting attractions such as the Three Dikgosi Monument and Mmokolodi Nature Game Reserve.
Guests will wrap up their day’s activities by spending a night at Avani, having a good time at the event, having a mimosa breakfast in the morning, appreciating the property, having a late lunch, a game at the volleyball court, having poolside cabanas as well as tasting a delicious wood fire baked pizza in the hotel’s new pizza oven.
“We want to give people what they want, being events that allow them to express a side of their personalities,” Mmono added. “The Avani Lifestyle celebrates food, music, different types of drinks, luxury living and most importantly, the people of Botswana.”
Guests are expected to come dressed to the nines where, in addition to engaging with the South African star, they will meet local artist Dato Seiko who will be serenading the crowd alongside DJ Boogie Sid, Macx Wa Bana, Tay Something and DJ Shimrock.
Loungo Pitse and Tshepo Ntshole will be the MC’s for the day.
