The Orange FA Cup semifinal draw has set up potentially thrilling matches with Gaborone United set to tackle Jwaneng Galaxy while Township Rollers will face Masitaoka FC. The last four teams will face off on the weekend of December 4 and 5.
Rollers will continue their aim to reach the final and exorcise the demons on the 2019 Orange FA Cup final where they were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by Orapa United. Their opponents, Masitaoka FC, are also eager to reach the final and they are within their rights to believe that they can cause an upset and eliminate Rollers.
Rollers easily disposed of Mahalapye Railways Highlanders in the quarterfinals as they won 4-0. Popa’s scorers on the day were Tlhalefo Molebatsi, Lemponye Tshireletso and Mohamed Diallo who scored a brace. Masitaoka FC earned their place in the last four as they defeated Calendar Stars 3-1 courtesy of goals from Oteng Dintwa, Walter Mukanga and Emmanuel Ditodi.
Traditional cup kings Gaborone United will take on modern day cup kings Jwaneng Galaxy. GU reached the last four by defeating the 2019 Orange FA Cup semifinalists Police XI with the evergreen Kekaetswe ‘Mara’ Moloi netting the all important goal. Galaxy atoned for 2019’s quarterfinal exit by recording an emphatic 4-1 victory over Notwane. Resaobaka Thatanyane and Lucky Mokoena scoring a brace apiece.
