Tumisang Orebonye has joined Hassania Agadir on a one-year deal, giving the Botswana international a fresh chance to contribute in Morocco’s top flight.

At 30, Tumisang Orebonye is beginning another chapter in a career shaped by movement, adaptation and football across North Africa.
The Botswana international has joined Moroccan Botola Pro club Hassania Union Sport d’Agadir, commonly known as Hassania Agadir or HUSA, as a free agent after leaving Wydad Casablanca by mutual consent earlier this month.
Orebonye has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend, giving him another opportunity to establish himself in a league he has known for several years.
“I am ready for this new challenge,” Orebonye said. “I will do all I can to help the club achieve its objectives for the season. I want to work hard, contribute to the team and make sure that whenever I get the opportunity to play, I give my best for the club.”
Long Journey
Orebonye left Township Rollers for Morocco about six years ago, joining Olympique Khouribga at a time when few Batswana had made such a move.
He later moved to Algeria, where he became the first Botswana player to lift the CAF Confederation Cup with USM Alger. A spell with AS FAR Rabat followed before Libya’s Al Ittihad came calling.
Each move brought a different football environment and added to the striker’s experience of adapting away from home.
He joined Wydad Casablanca during the 2025/26 season on a three-year deal from Al Ittihad. His time at Wydad included temporary moves, with the striker loaned to Olympic Safi for the remainder of the 2025/26 season. He also spent part of his temporary spell with Libyan club Al Shamooa.
Wydad no longer holds Orebonye’s rights after the two parties ended their relationship by mutual consent this month.

Founded in 1946, Hassania Agadir is based in the coastal city of Agadir and competes in Morocco’s top division.
The club won consecutive Botola Pro league titles in the 2001/02 and 2002/03 seasons.
HUSA finished 12th among 16 teams in the 2025/26 Botola Pro standings, collecting 33 points from 30 matches. Its record was eight wins, nine draws and 13 losses, leaving the club clear of the relegation zone.
Attacking Focus
HUSA scored three goals in its final five league matches last season, reflecting difficulties in converting opportunities consistently toward the end of the campaign.
Defensively, Hassania conceded an average of 0.8 goals per game during that stretch.
For Orebonye, the immediate task is to settle into another new environment, compete for a place and contribute to the club’s objectives.
“I know what it means to move to a new club and adapt to a different environment,” he said. “For me, the important thing is to work, stay focused and help the team wherever I can.”
